Specialist Services
The outpatient department also handles walk-in patients. The triage desk is the first clinical point of contact with the patient and serves the purpose of prioritising and distribution of cases. This procedure is backed up by the relevant diagnostic and pharmacy services that also operate on a 24-hour basis.

Dermatology Clinic
The Hospital conducts a skin clinic once a month for patients with skin complications. The consultant dermatologist manages all skin and venereal diseases including HIV related skin conditions. Open every second Saturday of the month.

Diabetic Clinic
A doctor and nurse educator conduct the diabetic clinic every Thursday. Patients are provided with advice on treating, managing diabetics and preventing complications. This information is geared to helping diabetics care for themselves and lead full and comfortable lives.

Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Clinic
The ENT specialist examines patients every Wednesday from 9.00am to 1.00pm.

Executive Clinic
The Executive clinic offers an intensive health check-up for people over the age of 25 years. Medical specialists recommend adults undergo an annual quality check-up. This ensures certain chronic diseases can be detected and treated in its earliest stages.

The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu Executive Clinic offers the following screenings:

Psychiatry
Mental ill health is one of the leading causes of morbidity in life but in a majority of cases it is misdiagnosed. Recognition, diagnosis, response has been a challenging aspect of Primary Health Care. Anxiety and depression are the most common psychiatry disorders.

At Aga Khan hospital we have a Psychiatry clinic every Wednesday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.

Medical Output Clinic
The Medical Outpatient Clinic is designed for the special care required for HIV-positive patients. The purpose of follow-up visits is to give preventive therapy and to detect and treat opportunistic infections early.

A specially designed clinical follow-up chart is followed. The Clinic is intended to expand to cover counselling, nutritional support and care of psychosocial problems. Patients needing anti-retroviral drugs are put on the programme of “Access Pricing”, whereby a company can arrange for anti-retroviral treatment. The clinic has facilities to carry out routine and specialized blood tests needed for follow-up.

The clinic operates as follows:
Tuesday: 9.00am - 1.00pm

Gastroenterology Clinic
Patients with Gastric disorders, e.g., stomach complaints, ulcers and liver conditions are examined at this Clinic.

Physiotherapy expands at the Aga Khan Hospital
Tanzania

The Aga Khan Hospital has completed a full upgrade of the physiotherapy service.
This has included moving
to new improved accommodation within the hospital, the purchase of new equipment and further training for the physiotherapists.
